The Ministry of Ayush will join a 16-day national women’s health campaign, Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, beginning September 17. The ministry announced the initiative on Sunday in an official press statement.
In collaboration with state and Union Territory administrations, Ayush research and educational institutions, industry bodies, NGOs, and cooperative societies, the ministry will hold activities centred on women’s health promotion and disease screening.

The campaign will include health check-ups and screening camps for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), cancers, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease. Officials said it will also highlight Ayush-based treatment approaches for anaemia, NCDs, and polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD) among women and children.
Alongside medical screenings, the campaign will host kiosks for lifestyle counselling, yoga sessions, and Prakriti Pareekshan. State governments and Union Territories are expected to conduct awareness activities in schools and use radio, television, and social media for outreach. Nutrition kits and information on simple home remedies will be shared with participants.
The ministry highlighted that the initiative will also include sessions on managing workplace stress through Ayurveda-inspired wellness routines and yoga-based mindfulness practices.
The awareness rallies will be conducted by Self-help groups at Panchayat level, which would encourage citizens to pledge towards taking care of their health. The ministry stated that with daily Ayush health tips on topics such as Anaemia-Free Women, Fit Mother, Stress-Free Women, Herbal Nutrition, and Bone Health on social media, the campaign will ensure comprehensive women’s healthcare, from pregnancy to palliative care.
